    Wo besteht denn hier überhaupt die Gefahr -
    Bekommt jetzt jeder Nichtangehörige beim Bundesarchiv Personenauskünfte und den vollen Werdegang ausgehändigt?
    Kommt dann jetzt auch jeder an die Offiziersakten des verstorbenen Altkanzlers Helmut Schmidt heran?

    Die aktuellen Daten lassen jedenfalls auf einen normalen Panzersoldaten schließen, dem wohl im Alter jede Reflektion fehlte.


    Evtl. geht es einfach nur in Richtung empörender Verurteilung, die man sich zu Lebzeiten nicht wagte?
    Mehr als Sturheit und Beschönigungen kann man ihm aktuell nicht vorwerfen. Es bleibt Sache des Holocaust-Zentrums in Neuseeland und der dortigen Behörden.
    Hierzulande löst man sowas eher mit angebrachten Informationstafeln.

    vorne weg ich stimme dir da größtenteils zu. Da sich eben diese Fragen für mich auch gestellt haben, möchte ich das nun eben im Vorfeld geklärt wissen.

    Ich möchte nicht, dass hier eine Grundsatzdislussion entsteht, ob nun jemand zu Lebzeiten oder postmortem glorifiziert oder niedergemacht wird. Versteh mich richtig, mir geht es rein um den wissenschaftlichen, historischen Aspekt bei dem Konstruktum. Daher kein Abdriften in die Gefilde der Mutmaßungen. Ich sehe auch keine Gefahr, welche hier besteht. Es sollte nur vorab schon einmal die Richtung geklärt sein. Und ich denke es geht in die rein informative Richtung. Ich denke dazu ist alles gesagt und geklärt.

    Also zurück zum Thema. Meine Frage zielte auf ein eventuelles Verwandtschaftsverhältnis ab, daher der Tipp mit der WASt.

    ich wollte auch nicht vom Thema abweichen, habe nur laut gedacht und dabei wohl versehentlich mitgetippt. ;)


    Eigentlich wurde ja nur nach dem Verleihungsgrund des EK I gefragt, die restliche Bio ist nahezu vollständig (welche der 3 SS Panzerdivisionen?)

    Verleihung riecht m.E. irgendwie nach "Kursker Schlacht 1943". Ich hoffe nur, dass man wegen des EK rein militärischer Natur nachfragt. Und nicht ein Besatzungsverbrechen als Verleihungsgrund vermutet.

    Man kennt das Allgemeinwissen in down under ja nicht.

    wenn ich die bisherigen Posts richtig gelesen habe, soll er das EK I für die Kämpfe in der Panzerschlacht 1943 im Kursker Bogen erhalten haben, warum er für den Abschuss von mehr als 50 Panzern ,,nur" das EK I erhielt, sofern mich meine geringen Englischkenntnisse nicht täuschen, wundert mich schon ein wenig.

    wo wurde die Zahl "50" angegeben,ich konnte keine Angabe entdecken.

    Ich hoffe, der Threadersteller will mit genaueren militärischen Angaben die hitzige Debatte im Kiwiland versachlichen.

    Wenn schon 17 jährige Freiwillige, die direkt in den Graben geworfen werden, in der Headline als "SS-Mitglied" a la KZ-Wachmannschaft verunglimpft werden und eine Petition die Umbenennung der von ihn erbauten Skipiste fordert ,

    dann nimmt das dort hysterische Züge wie einst bei unserem Horst "Derrick" Tappert an.

    Gott sei dank können wir hier ordentlich differenzieren.

    Offtopic: War die Presse damals eigentlich an Derricks Dokumente / Akte gelangt? Werden die Angehörigen wohl nicht zur "Plünderung / Verunglimpfung" freigegeben haben.

    ich möchte dazu noch anmerken, dass dieses Auszeichnungssystem keinesfalls konsequent eingehalten wurde. Ein besonders Kriterium der Unterscheidung ist auch die Form der Beteilung an den Abschüssen, Thema Kommandant oder z.B. Richtschütze.


    I would like to add that this labeling system has by no means been consistently adhered to. A special criterion for the distinction is also the form of participation in the kills., Topic commander or e.g. Gunner.

    ja, war nur als grober Durchschnittswert aufgeführt. Weicht im Einzelfall evtl. erheblich ab. Exakte Einzelbestimmungen gab es wohl nicht?

    Wirbelwind hatte für 50 Gesamtabschüsse ja mehr verlangt als das EK I und war skeptisch, bezüglich des Mannes.
