    Hello Peter

The book looks interesting. Is it possible to order a copy?

When I have more time I can probably work on translating it for myself.

    Sincerely

    Hello Peter

The pictures are impressive and sad. So many men who more than likely really were only fighting because they had to not because they believed in the cause. They paid the ultimate price.

I have read of Pow facilities set up in Berlin and the Russians putting some on trial, Do you know anything of this?

I am wondering, if my grandfather became a POW on the second or third of May why he would have been shot on the Seventh of November. I would think by then all POWs would be in Russia. So I am still wondering.

Thank you for all the information you have provided. Your pictures are terrific.

    Sincerely

    Hello Peter and Whirlwind

I.wish to apologize first of all for not following etiquette and also very humbly for not being able to correspond in German. Since my parents left Germany they did not think it important that their children be literate in German.

thank you both for your kindness in answering my questions and helping me to understand better what may have happened to my grandfather. I will continue to look for answers in the DRK and Wast systems. I was hoping to find some archived files from Russian reports of the time to confirm why he was shot. That may well be a lost cause. Thank you again for your kind help.

    Sincerely

    Hello Peter

I.wonder if you have any information about the Volkssturm battalion 3/115 Siemensstadt. Especially what happened to the remaining members who were captured by the Russians. I have reason to believe my grandfather was a member of this battalion. He was employed by Siemens as a production engineer and lived in Siemensstadt on Rieppelstrasse. He disappeared in the battle of Berlin. I contacted Siemens recently and the archivist wrote me back that they had received information in 1956 that he had been shot by the Russians on November 7 1945. I have been trying to research this information but have had little success. I have contacted the DRK but have heard nothing. I would like to find out what happened to the members of 3/115 battalion since from accounts they acquitted themselves valiantly in such a hopeless cause. Thank you for all your incredible research.
